2020 Acura RDX vs 2020 Volvo XC60

2020 Acura RDX vs 2020 Volvo XC60

Stylish, sporty looks, quiet, comfortable, and luxurious interiors, and legendary safety features make the 2020 Acura RDX and the Volvo XC60 two of the most popular crossovers on the market today. While the two have much in common, they differ in many categories, as well. Here’s a look.

Comfort and Convenience

The Acura RDX and the Volvo XC60 offer rear passengers similar amounts of head and legroom. Front passengers, however, will find the Acura RDX accommodates taller drivers and front passengers better thanks to somewhat more head and legroom than the Volvo XC60. The RDX also holds quite a bit more cargo at .88 to .85 cubic metres of space with its rear seat up, and 2.26 to 1.43 cubic metres with its back seat folded. The RDX also comes standard with Acura’s “Easy Entry” system, which helps with getting in and out of the driver’s seat. Both vehicles come standard with comfort features like dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats, and leather upholstery.

Entertainment

Both models come with world-class entertainment systems that feature Bluetooth streaming for hands-free calling and music streaming. Both infotainment systems offer seamless integration of popular apps like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Pandora internet radio.

Performance

Acura offers the RDX with a 272-hp, 2.0-litre, 16-valve, Direct Injection, DOHC, VTEC turbocharged 4-cylinder engine on all trims. All models also get a 10-speed automatic transmission with Grade Logic Control, Acura’s Integrated Dynamics System, Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, and steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The XC60 comes with a less powerful 250-hp In-line 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. All XC60 trims also include all-wheel drive.

Overall, this year’s Acura RDX and Volvo XC60 match up closely in many areas. Still, they also differ in many features, as the chart below illustrates.

Considering the Acura’s lower MSRP, better warranty, and considerably more cargo space, the RDX looks to be the clear winner in the battle between the 2020 Acura RDX vs. the 2020 Volvo XC60.
